Summary
Dried smoked shrimp from Myanmar contains high levels of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), exceeding maximum permitted limits. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons heavy were found at 49 ±17 µg/kg (allowed: 2 µg/kg), and the sum of PAHs exceeded 80 µg/kg (allowed: 12 µg/kg). Distribution of the product is restricted to Italy following border control measures.
