- Affected units were sold between 2021 and 2023 and generally have a serial number starting 1FE-8FE. The 14-digit serial number can be found on the base on the unit. 2024 Yoto Minis are unaffected by the battery issue and do not require a battery replacement kit.

- It has been identified that a small number of Yoto Minis contained a battery that overheated when at a high state of charge, posing a potential burn or fire hazard.
- The product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011.
- Corrective action
- Modification programme.
- Consumers were initially contacted about this matter in April 2024, where affected consumers were offered a free replacement smart charging cable. - Yoto are now undertaking further corrective action, offering consumers who purchased a Yoto Mini between 2021 and 2023 a free replacement battery to further mitigate the potential fire risk.
