- The product presents a risk of electric shock because the live pins are too short and do not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363. As a result, the adaptor may not form a secure connection with a socket, which could allow users to come into contact with exposed live metal parts. The inadequate pin dimensions may also result in overheating and sparking at the socket interface, presenting a risk of fire.
- Improvements are also required to the product labelling and accompanying documentation.
- The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
