If the switch is incorrectly wired to the neutral line instead of the live line, leaving the threaded metal part of the bulb socket permanently energised, and the user turns on the light switch, they are at risk of receiving an electric shock. There is also a risk of an electrical fire starting, possibly leading to property damage.
