The EU has issued a safety alert for Caro White's Lightening Beauty Cream due to an excessive amount of kojic acid, which can cause harm to the thyroid system and skin sensitization. What is the risk?
- The product has an excessive concentration of kojic acid (measured value up to 2.77% by weight). Kojic acid can affect the balance of the thyroid system and also induce skin sensitisation, when used at high concentrations on hand and face, or if used on large areas of skin. The product does not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.
