- The product presents a serious risk of fire and electric shock due to a poor external/internal build. The product featured poor quality connections. These connections were made using locking crimps but could be removed from components easily by hand, presenting a risk of electric shock. The earth was also mounted by a non-secure fixing and did not have the protective earth symbol present.
- The product also failed the electric strength test, and breakdown occurred before full test voltage was applied. The product was supplied with a counterfeit plug and fuse, further presenting a risk of fire and electric shock.
- The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 and Plugs & Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994.
