- Hazard
- If the motor is used in saltwater, it has been identified that the studs located on the upper shift arm of the specified FourStroke models can corrode over time. This could lead to potential loss of shift function during a component failure. Outboards outside of the affected serial number range, or within the affected serial number range that have only been operated in freshwater markets, do not require modification.
- The product does not meet the requirements of the Recreational Craft Regulations 2017.
- Corrective action
- Modification programme.
- Users are advised to take their boat to a Mercury Marine Authorised Dealer for repair if it has been operated in saltwater. To identify your local dealer, access the following webpage: Mercury Marine
