- A set of black LED string lights with 40 sockets and 42 bulbs, packaged in a brown cardboard box

- The product presents a serious risk of electric shock as the cord insulation is inadequate. The cord was found to be a parallel twin type cord, with only a single layer of PVC insulation. If the consumer were to use the lights outdoors as instructed, the cord could deteriorate in the sun causing the live wires to become exposed.
- The instructions did not contain some of the specified warnings which may result in the inadvertent misuse of the lighting chain. Some of the required documentation and markings were not present.
- The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
- Corrective action
- The import has been rejected at the border and destroyed.
- Please note that the unsafe plug was removed from the product and destroyed, with the remaining parts being re-exported to their point of origin.
