- The product presents a serious risk of fire as the plug fuse does not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1362. The length is below the minimum permitted tolerance. A compliant fuse is required to ensure safe operation of the plug under fault conditions.
- The plug face also does not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363 as the live and neutral pins are too close to the periphery. If there is a surge in the current or a fault with the product, the plug may overheat and ignite, causing a fire. The instructions supplied are considered inadequate and some of the required documentation/markings were not present.
- The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
