- Hairdryer with wall plug. Product claims to be ‘Dyson’ branded but is counterfeit. Consumers are advised to check the warning label on their product – the counterfeit has a misspelled safety warning as pictured.

- Hazard
- The product presents a serious risk of fire the plug fuse does not conform to the requirements of BS 1362. The fuse is required to ensure the safe operation of the plug under fault conditions, and a non-conforming fuse could lead to the plug overheating and/or exploding. The product also failed to cut off under restricted airflow testing, emitted excessive amounts of smoke and interior components began to melt.
- The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
