- Three fragrances sold by Savers Health and Beauty stores. Affected products have the chemical ‘butylphenyl methylpropional’ and/or ‘hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde’ included on the ingredients label on the packaging of the product.

- The products present a serious chemical risk as they contain butylphenyl methylpropional (BMHCA/lilial) and/or hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde. Both chemicals are prohibited in cosmetic products. BMHCA may harm the reproductive system, may harm the health of the unborn child, and may cause skin sensitisation.
- The products do not meet the requirements of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 (‘The Cosmetics Regulation’).
- Corrective action
- Affected products have been recalled by Savers Health and Beauty.
- Customers should return any of the above products purchased at a Savers store to the place of purchase, where they will be issued a full refund.
