- The earmuff headband force decreases over time when used in combination with certain helmets. This decrease in force could lead to the earmuffs offering less protection.

- In EN352-3 standard testing, the 3M™ PELTOR™ X Series P5E Hard Hat attached earmuffs continues to meet requirements.
- There have been no reports of injuries, accidents, or complaints associated with this issue.

- Recall of the product from end users. Product advisory notice sent to distributors with instructions.
- 3M is updating the compatibility information related to 3M™ PELTOR™ P5E earmuffs and approved head protection products. Marking the product with appropriate warnings on the risks. The helmets that are not compatible have been removed from the approved carrier list.
