- The small magnetic balls were found to be small enough to fit completely into a small parts cylinder and as such, would be regarded as capable of presenting a choking hazard for a child under 3 years of age.
- If two or more magnets are swallowed, there is a risk that the magnets become drawn to each other in the digestive system, which could cause severe injury or death if rapid medical attention not sought.
- 68 magnetic spheres were tested and 9 found to have a magnetic flux index greater than 50 kG2mm2, the highest value found being 70 kG2mm2.
- The product was CE marked but does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011.
- Corrective action
- The product has been voluntarily withdrawn from the market and recalled from end users.
